IN THE DOLDRUMS

Yeah.. i am back again..:)..
It is a brighter summer morning and i am in the 'Doldrums'.By 'doldrums', i do not mean the region of calm winds, but a fit of sloth and dullness. The 'sailing ship'-my brain is becalmed and unable to progress.I would be glad if someone can initiate a baffling wind to sail my ship to the coast.

The picture described the inactiveness of my mind.Just like the kid,i cannot decide what to do.:)..Well i have got an exam tomorrow(calculus) and have to complete some assignments too.Just remembered i had to write a book review as well...would fetch me some extra credit.;).I was initially confused ..did not know for which book should i write the review.

There were a few in my mind namely To Kill a Mockingbird(Harper Lee)-story of an African-American man falsely accused of raping a white woman ,The Princess of Arabia(Jean Sasson)- a true Story of life behind the veil in Saudi Arabia ,The Secret(Rhonda Bryne)-reveals the most powerful law in the universe,'the law of attraction'.

But it didn't take me much to finally reach to a decision.I chose to write the book review on 'To Kill A Mockingbird'..not because the others are not good, but because i have a very special connection with this book due to very special reasons..:P

Wow....I think 'my sailing vessel' is finally moving now..so i better start studying for my exam before the winds get calm and trap me again.

Adios!

Here is something i could not resist sharing..(i think i am getting into the groove of blogging now)

Well..the randomness is drifting away.
Here is a video which i knew i had to share the moment i saw it.As you all must be knowing that an earthquake of 7.0 magnitude hit Haiti on February 12,2010 which resulted in the death of about 2,50,000 people. This video was made by the 'Young Artists For Haiti' .More than 50 young artists of Canada dedicated the song 'waving flag' to the recovery efforts in earthquake ravaged Haiti.

This song was originally sung by K'naan and it is also going to be the Anthem for 2010 Fifa World Cup to be held in South Africa.

The lyrics are so beautiful and inspiring.i get goosebumps every time i listen to this song.I am sure the Young Artists have done justice to their cause. This video also inspires us to donate and help the helpless. It is never too late. The Haiti victims still need a lot of help.So let us help them 'raise and wave' their flag again.

P.s.- A special thanks to my great friend Djama Aden who brought this video to my notice.

Random beginnings... :)

Well...finally i am blogging!

Howdy to my friends out there... I know i am late because of my 'lackadaisical' attitude. Just remembered that I learnt the term 'lackadaisical' from my english teacher in Class 10. I retained this word right then and there as I knew I would need to use it many times, especially for myself, although i try and make sure that such a situation does not arise.
Now that I have pushed myself into blogging,I am really liking it. So how do i begin?

Well I am sitting here in front of the computer with my eyes glued to the screen. It is a bright summer afternoon... very bright infact... the one which makes you want to laze around like a cow in the shade... 'shade' being your room with the air conditioner switched-on at the lowest possible temperature. But the crazy thing is ...it's just the beginning of April! Oh yeah... global warming is taking a toll on all of us,but I guess we, the 'guilty', cannot complain. I still remember that my winter uniform in school used to start from October and continue till the beginning of April. But since the last few years, it's become SO hot that one cannot even think of wearing a coat in this kind of April afternoon!

To add to it,the lack of electricity joins hands with the heat and betrays us when we need it the most. I guess we have a right to complain about the electricity cuts which are worsening day by day... wonder if they will be worst in June and July, when the heat reaches it's peak. Who should be blamed for the electricity cuts and more importantly, where IS all the electricity? Well, its always gonna be a mystery to me and I am sure I won't be able to solve it even if I get Sherlock Homes to possess my mind. :) :P

This is it for my random beginning.I shall bid adieu to all of you for now. I know my thoughts were random, but they surely did make a little bit of sense...
But in the end, you are the judge. :)
